Hat Origami Instructions. You'll need a rectangular piece of paper. Fold the paper half lengthwise.
If you have a square piece, we'll make a rectangle as shown in the first four photos below. You can shape the hat in different ways, either quite straight and symmetrical or lopsided and ragged! Fold the top layer along the dashed lines as shown.
Step 2) Fold The Paper In Half Again.
Now fold the top down to the bottom edge. Make a very small cut into the middle part of the boat then stick the wooden skewer up through the hole. If the paper is square it doesnt matter which way you fold it.
Just Note That The More Square The Paper Is, The Taller The Hat Will Be In Comparison To The Width.
Take one layer from the bottom and fold it up as far as it will go. Next fold the right edge over to the left edge and crease well. Don’t worry about the dimensions, as long as the paper is rectangular you can make a paper hat out of it.
Fold The Top Corners Down To The Centre Line.

This Is The Back Of The Paper, Which Is Usually White.
If you’re using a single sided colored paper, face the white side upwards. I recommend using origami paper if you want them to turn out nice, but regular paper will do fine for simple diagrams. Fold one bottom flaps up.
The Fold The Top Corners Towards The Middle As Shown.
